Apparently Will Traval who has portrayed two different characters on two different superhero shows (Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Arrow) is now joining the X-Men franchise!
Wil Traval hinted on his Twitter a few months ago that he has been cast in next year’s superhero sequel to X-Men Apocalypse – X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The new generation of X-Men actors introduced at X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: First Class will get their chance at the famous Dark Phoenix storyline after the first generation took on elements of the story in X-Men: The Last Stand.
This casting is not officially confirmed yet, nor is there any news to who Traval will be playing if he is in the film, but his tweet suggests it’s something worth getting excited about. The Dark Phoenix storyline is considered as one of the greatest Marvel Comics, centered around the rise of Jean Grey’s extremely powerful telepathic powers and her subsequent corruption.
Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is the only cast member confirmed to return so far, reprising the role of Jean Grey from X-Men: Apocalypse. Longtime X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg has aslo reportedly been in talks to direct Dark Phoenix, taking over for Bryan Singer.
Wil will be returning to his role as Simpson in Season 2 of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which is currently filming with word suggesting that this season will see the character transform into his super-villain counterpart Nuke.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will release at the theaters in November 2nd, 2018.
