John Wick: Chapter 3 Will Be The Conclusion To The Franchise

Earlier this year, John Wick: Chapter Two released and it helped the franchise to be recognized as one of the best modern action movie franchises in Hollywood. As far as sequels go, Chapter Two managed to be an amazing movie that lived up to the original and help expand the franchise in an unique way. Now for those of us who watched the movie, the cliffhanger ending pretty much told us that there will be a third film in the franchise.

Now it has been confirmed that the third film will end the assassin’s journey.

Director Chad Stahelski recently spoke with The Independent about the release of John Wick: Chapter 2 on Blu-ray/DVD. During the interview, he talked a bit about what we can expect from John Wick 3, saying that it will be a “completion” of Wick’s journey. Here’s what he had to say about it.

“We are going to put in something about the High Table, how that all works. We’re going to put in something about where John comes from, and where he wants to go. I don’t want to say too much more, but it will be a nice completion to Mr. Wick’s journey.”

There was also a plan of a prequel television show that would show how John Wick got his reputation. While there is something “up and running at Lionsgate,” there is no confirmation as to whether or not the show would serve as a prequel:

“There are a lot of ideas being thrown around right now. A lot of people working on it. I don’t know if they’ve locked in a consensus yet. But they have some very good people on it.”

As of right now, Chad Stahelski hasn’t officially signed on to direct John Wick Chapter: 3, but he is doing prep work and getting the movie to start production. He is attached to direct the new Highlander reboot, so that could get in the way. In any case, Keanu Reeves will be back as John Wick for one last time and, if Stahelski is good on his word, it will be a satisfying ending.

John Wick: Chapter 2 will be out on home media today.
