Deadpool 2‘s cast has another great addition. Marson, who recently starred in this year’s Atomic Blonde is set to star in 2018’s Deadpool sequel as confirmed by himself via a tweet:
One of the most likely reasons he took the role was the fact that he worked with the film’s director, David Leitch, before, in his other film Atomic Blonde. And many of Marsan’s other roles make him qualified to star in Deadpool 2. He has starred in an R-rated comic book movie before with V for Vendetta (2005), he has starred in a superhero comedy with Hancock (2008) and he has starred in an R-rated action comedy before with The World’s End (2013).
As for the character he’ll be playing, it is still unknown. And since Ryan Reynolds hasn’t yet revealed the look for his character via Twitter like he usually does for the film’s characters, it seems like 20th Century Fox is keeping it a secret for now. Rumor has it that he might play one of the film’s mutant villains, the most likely being Black Tom Cassidy. Until further details are revealed, we’ll have to wait and see.
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and it stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character. It is set to release on June 8, 2018.
