Plot Summary

The show’s most powerful characters meet to discuss the future and fate of their world. This is the calm of the storm, and the living will have to join forces and make sacrifices if they are going to make it out alive.

Jaime and Bronn’s perception of the Unsullied is that soldiers with a lack of genitalia are not strong, albeit they have yet to see them in action. Loyalty plays a huge role in this episode; characters must choose between loyalty to their respective houses or their commitment in the war against the white walkers. Cersei’s stubbornness puts everyone’s lives at risk, and Tyrion proves this with the “We’re f***ed” line. Theon’s redemption seems to come off as an underrated arc, but we shall see where that takes him. Cersei’s decision on whether to fight alongside Daenerys and Jon Snow can put the whole world in jeopardy if she makes the wrong choice, and she clearly does not understand the concept of “We’re f***ed.” Revelations and twists are what kept this episode a rather fascinating one, and they are probably what kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

Overall, this finale proves why Game of Thrones will remain perhaps the best show of the decade. It has definitely topped that of last season’s finale. It may have been a tad slow at first, but the second half of this episode was worth the watch. Speaking of the watch, what will become of the Night’s Watch? I guess we will have to wait until next season to find out.

Was your mind blown by this finale? If not, watch the series from the pilot episode up to this season finale because the show will not return immediately. The show’s eighth and final season will return with its last six episodes to HBO in 2018 or 2019.
