Rick and Morty may be (temporarily) gone, but not forgotten. After their Season Three premiere episode back on April Fool’s Day of this year, the Internet went bonkers over a reference involving Disney’s Mulan and the chicken nugget sauce they advertised for the film. At the end of the episode, elderly mad scientist Rick Sanchez told his grandson that he would get that sauce even if it meant having to wait nine seasons of the show. Now, fans can expect to wait way less than that.
Earlier this week, McDonald’s manager of culinary innovation, Mike Haracz, announced in a tweet to series co-creator Justin Roiland (also the voice of the eponymous grandfather and grandson) that the popular sauce will return on October 7th, 2017, to limited franchise restaurants. Haracz also included a link to a website which announced McDonald’s new “Buttermilk Crispy Tenders.”
Will you be at McDonald’s for the sauce this coming weekend? Fans could only hope for such a miracle to happen.
Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s popular animated series Rick and Morty will return to Cartoon Network’s nighttime programming block Adult Swim with its fourth season sometime in the near future.
