Henry Cavill Discusses Clark Kent’s Return

In a recent interview from WSVN-TV, Henry Cavill discusses how Clark Kent may return in the upcoming Justice League film.

As we all should know by now, the end of Batman V Superman saw the man of steel give his life to save the world from Doomsday. While it is easy for us, and the people of Metropolis to believe that the god-like superhero could bring himself back from the dead, the same cannot be said for his alter-ego; Clark Kent.a2c9744c5c45af068f7c7664525c42e2--clark-kent-clarks

When posed with the question, Cavill cited the recent DC Rebirth Comics explaining that the Clark Kent we see there is a very different take on the beloved character.

“The Rebirth comics are a very different style of Clark Kent and Superman. He actually has a son as well, with Lois, and they live in a different place. And there’s a very different lifestyle and relationship going there, so there’s an opportunity there for that, but there are so many different other opportunities as well where we can express and play with what and who Clark is.”

This tells me that the folks over at DC intend to take the character of Superman somewhere brighter, somewhere happier. Somewhere I believe this character belongs. This doesn’t just keep the character from the comic books intact, it also gives us the chance to see an element of the character we haven’t got a chance to see on film yet. The closest we have been to any sort of family-dynamic for Superman is the implication of a Superboy in Superman Returns from 2006.

But what do you think? Do you like the way the DCEU is potentially is going with this character? Or do you prefer the darker tone? Let us know at Twitter.
