After the release of the highly anticipated Justice League a few weeks ago, fans began a petition for Zack Snyder’s original vision to be released. Already, this petition has over 100,000 signatures on Change.org. This all comes from fans’ dissatisfaction with replacement director Joss Whedon’s finished product.
After finishing shooting on the film earlier this year, Snyder compiled an assembly cut of Justice League before departing the project for personal reasons. Warner Brothers brought on The Avengers and Age of Ultron director to finish post-production work and hold a couple reshoots. Whedon seemingly took it upon himself to reshoot a significant amount of the film, which left fans slightly unhappy.
Now, a VFX artist from Justice League has taken to Reddit to clarify the stance of Snyder’s Justice League cut:
“1000% bulls**t. As I’ve said, of course, there is an assembly cut Zack had going before he left, but that was 9 months ago. He himself said he hasn’t touched or interfered or been a part of the process since March. There is no cut. People like this guy (who spread the rumor) are the worst, perpetuating rumors of processes they don’t understand.”
It’s looking like fans won’t be getting a Snyder-led version of Justice League even wth this petition. There can still be hope, as Snyder liked a tweet which talked about the petition. That can mean anything, though. If you want to support the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, sign the petition here!
